Damaged props

Hi guys,
can a prop be used if a corner on one side has been chipped off, or will I need to replace it asap as it might effect flight?
If so what brand of props would you recommend for Nitro planes?

Hey davy you could sand abit off each end,and then balance it,The blade that is missing abit will be abit ligher and it will be out of balance,this will rattle you plane to bits,wrecking servos,bearings in you engine and radio parts.
Master air screw props are strong but the airfoil shape is crap,the are alrite for general use prop but rubbish if you want speed,apc props seem to be good,just make sure you do not get the electric ones.

Hey Davy it is very important to balance your props,you dont want any extra vibration be put through your model,
This vibration can rattle components off pc boards,like the ones in recivers,servos,crystals have seen it break off soldered joints.
Single cylinder engines can only be balanced so much and add a little vibration,also it can wreck the bearings in your engine,rattle screws,fasterners lose.
You dont need to buy a balance jig,I just mount a bit for round bar in the vice,must be level,slide prop mount hole over it,give it a spin,remove some material with sand paper,file.Give it another spin,End result is you want the prop to balance in a horizontal plane.

I have been thinking of making a prop balance jig,While I am at it,its not a lot more work to make a few at once,so if ya keen and I get them done I may have one coming your way.
They are about $50 to buy,I am sure it can been done alot cheaper than that.
