Dear Friends,
Probably you know that I'm very happy with my Phoenix RC Flight Simulator.
I'm using this tool for getting the automatism back in flying and believe it or not I was out there on our strip several times without any crash OR shivering knees !!!
I think any simulator is not good enough to basicly learn flying BUT definitely good to improving ANY level of skills !!!
The really biggest advantage is that pushing boundaries will not end up in month of reparing planes and shivering knees next time facing the real strip.
Soooo you're welcome if you want have a close look at all feature and of course a brief try !!!
By the way I'm NOT the representative or salesperson for this tool... !!!
Regards,
Josef

That sounds good, and you're surely right about simulator training being good - but it's still not the real thing. I've been using "Flying Model Simulator", which

  • seems to do a lot of things acceptably
  • is free
  • conflicts with some of the most popular graphics cards, so I can only use it on an old PC
  • has an open interface, so thousands of people round the world contribute models
  • looks quite 'blocky' on screen so the scenery couldn't be called realistic
  • and so on
Should I consider paying money for a simulator such as Phoenix? And is the Tower Hobbies "Real Flight" sim the best one to go for? http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/realflight/gpmz4440.html

What has everyone else got?

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
good to seeing that you think about ?!?!
Well, guess the easiest way is to look at
http://www.phoenix-sim.com/downloads.htm
there is a free demo to download
and have a look at different forums via google.
Hm... life is teaching us that we always get what we did pay for ... so guess you got some sort of a prehistoric whatsoever, just for free ...
You're welcome to have a close look on my place and have a try.
Regards,
Josef
